Aziz Nagar to Kanakamamidi: Moinabad's Farmhouse Villages Explained
· 5 min read· by Moinabad Farmhouses Team
Why every Moinabad farmhouse listing names a village, what that label does and does not tell you, and how to use it when choosing where to stay.
When you browse Moinabad farmhouses, each listing names a village: Aziz Nagar, Yethbarpally, Tolkatta, Surangal, Kanakamamidi, Amdapur, Bakaram, Venkatapur and others. Moinabad is a mandal, a block of many villages in Ranga Reddy district, and the village is simply the address of the farmhouse within it.
Knowing that one fact clears up a lot of confusion. "Moinabad" on a listing does not mean the town on the Chevella road; it means somewhere in the wider mandal. The village label narrows it down, and that matters for your drive, your route and how easily guests find the gate.
Mandal, town and village: three different things
People in Hyderabad use "Moinabad" loosely, so it helps to separate the layers:
- The mandal is the administrative area, sitting west of the city along the Chevella road, past the ORR. It holds the largest cluster of private farmhouses near Hyderabad.
- Moinabad town is the small market centre on the main road, handy for last-minute supplies.
- The villages are the settlements spread across the mandal, surrounded by mango orchards and open fields. This is where the farmhouses actually are.
So two farmhouses can both be "in Moinabad" yet sit in different villages, reached by different turns off the main road. That is why our listings show the village first.

The villages you will see on listings
Here are the farmhouse villages that come up most on this site. We have hub pages for several of them, each showing the farmhouses there along with live distances, which is far more reliable than any general description.
| Village | Where to look |
|---|---|
| Aziz Nagar | Farmhouses in Aziz Nagar |
| Kanakamamidi | Farmhouses in Kanakamamidi |
| Tolkatta | Farmhouses in Tolkatta |
| Surangal | Farmhouses in Surangal |
| Yethbarpally, Amdapur, Bakaram, Venkatapur | Each has its own hub page; browse them from the main farmhouse listing |
| Nagireddiguda, Peddamangalaram, Nazeeb Nagar, Medipally | Farmhouses here appear in the main listing |
We deliberately do not rank villages as "better" or "worse". The character of a stay depends on the individual farmhouse, its pool, lawn, rooms and caretaker, far more than on which village it is in.
What the village name actually tells you
Your route in
Moinabad can be approached from two broad directions. Groups from Gachibowli, Kokapet, Kondapur or the airport usually come along the ORR and exit for the Chevella road near Appa Junction. Groups from Mehdipatnam, Tolichowki and the old city often take the toll-free road via Langar Houz and Himayat Sagar, which passes through Aziz Nagar. The village tells you which of these feels more natural for your starting point. Our guide to reaching Moinabad from Hyderabad explains both routes.
How far off the main road you go
Many farmhouses sit a few kilometres off the main road on village roads. The village gives you a rough sense of that last stretch, but the farmhouse page and its location pin give the real answer.
What it does not tell you
The village does not tell you about pool size, number of rooms, guest cap, house rules or price. Two farmhouses in the same village can be completely different. Treat the village as a filter for convenience, then judge each property on its own listing.
How to use villages when choosing a farmhouse
- Start with your group's starting points. If most of you live on the western IT side, check how the villages line up with the ORR exit. If most come from the old city side, see which ones fall along the Himayat Sagar road.
- Open the village hub pages. They show live distances, which is the honest way to compare.
- Shortlist by property, not village. Once you have two or three villages that suit the drive, compare the actual farmhouses inside them.
- Ask for the pin before the day. A map search by village name alone usually lands you at the village centre, not at your gate, and drivers waste time asking around.
- Think about the drive back. If people are leaving after dark, a shorter stretch of unlit village road is a genuine advantage.
Pins deserve their own post, and we wrote one: checking a Moinabad farmhouse location pin before you go.
What village life looks like from the farmhouse gate
First-timers are sometimes surprised by how rural the last stretch feels after the busy Chevella road. Expect mango orchards and open fields on either side, cattle crossing at their own pace, and a few small shops rather than supermarkets. That is exactly why people come, but it shapes how you plan.
- Stock up before you turn off the main road. Buy supplies in the city or in Moinabad town; village shops carry only the basics.
- Expect the odd power cut. Village supply can drop, and many farmhouses have backup, but check what it covers.
- Mobile signal varies. Download the pin and any maps before you leave, in case data is patchy near the gate.
- Cabs take longer to arrive. Getting a cab out to Moinabad is easy; a ride back from a village can take a while to be accepted.
A note on village etiquette
Farmhouses here share their surroundings with people who live and farm in these villages. A few habits keep everyone on good terms: drive slowly through the village, especially near schools and temples; park inside the gate, not on the narrow road; keep outdoor music within the farmhouse's set hours; and do not leave rubbish by the roadside on the way out. Your caretaker is usually from the area and can tell you anything local you need to know.
If your group is coming from the Mehdipatnam side, our post on getting to Moinabad from Mehdipatnam and the old city covers that approach in detail.
Find your village, then your farmhouse
The simplest next step is to open all farmhouses in Moinabad, pick your dates, and look at where the available ones sit. Use the village as a guide to the drive, and let the farmhouse itself make the final decision.

Frequently asked questions
Is Aziz Nagar part of Moinabad?
Aziz Nagar is one of the villages in Moinabad mandal and sits on the road coming in from Himayat Sagar, which makes it a natural approach for groups from the Mehdipatnam side.
Which Moinabad village is best for a farmhouse?
There is no single best village. Choose the area that suits your group's drive, then compare individual farmhouses, since pool, rooms and rules matter more than the village.
Why does my farmhouse address say a village instead of Moinabad?
Moinabad is a mandal made up of many villages. The village is the farmhouse's actual location, which is why you should navigate using the pin the host shares.
Are Moinabad farmhouse villages far from the main road?
Many farmhouses are a few kilometres off the main road on village roads. The farmhouse page and village hub pages show live distances.
